faster doesn't make better mileage, but running at the 'optimum' RPM and loading does make a diff, w/ the 2.73's at 50-60 [about stock tire height of 30"], you'll only be turnin 1500-1800RPM - don't know where the best mileage will be, but if you're not on dead flat road, it'll be luging on every slight rise - and only 70? should be able to do 85 and be turnin about 2600RPM

runnin too rich for starters w/ the black pipes [check the plugs] - carb adjustment might help, and make sure the choke isn't stickin part on, or rejetting might be needed - hotter plugs too
