Yup--got another newbie.
I've been into hot rods and enthusiasts vehicles for more than half my life. I spent 9 years working for magazines, and now work for Year One doing Media Relations.
I've wanted a vintage truck forever, and the stars recentlly aligned for me. I'll be flying out to KC with my 10 year old son to pick up a '62 Suburban and drive it back to Atlanta. The 'burb wil be my daily driver, and I'll hand the customized Dodge Dakota off to my wife for her daily.
Short-term plans for the Suburban are to keep it reliable, and upgrade it enough to pull my gasser '57 Chevy wagon by swapping the granny gear 4sd for a 833 4spd OD trans, front discs, and enjoy it. Later plans call for removing the dents, lowering the front, painting it 2-tone suede black and white to match my station wagon, and in the long long run, drop in a 500-inch Caddy with TH400.
But between now and Feb. 24th (when I fly out to pick it up), I've got to learn everything I can about the '62s!
Glad this place is here!!!
