The best way to make a trailer out of a truck bed is to take a look at a few trailers that others have made. Most of the trailers I've seen have pulled the cab and front end off the frame and cut notches in the inside of the frame rails just in front of the front of the bed. Then you bend the frame rails into the center until they meet. Then you cut the excess frame off and weld the frame rails together and weld a trailer hitch tongue onto the joined frame rails. This is very over simplified. Again, look at a few trailers that others have built and copy the one that you like the best. Been there, etc....
