I've got a Dana 44 that I've sorta narrowed down to '60s GMC (poss 4x4) lineage. Unfortunately, the BOM numbers on the axle tube are long gone, so the only reference I have is the Delco Moraine part number on the backing plate, which I've yet to turn up further info from.
The housing "used" to have springs over the axle, but have since been relocated below. However, there were two 3/16 plate brackets off the front of the tubes that I can't quite figure out. (they've since been cut off, but I did leave the shock mounts for now) Does this sound like a GMC rear?
