Pick up a copy of the Old Car Price Guide. I often see it on the magazine rack at Barnes and Noble. It gives guidelines on evaluating condition, and then lists a price based on condition.
Sometimes the prices listed seem high, and sometimes they seem low, but at least its a good place to start.
