no i didn't need new piston rings (motor was freshly rebuilt) but i forgot a few things i had to use a flashlight to see my gauges (a fuse burnt so i had no gauge lights or park lights, pinched a wire with a bolt when i put my trailer hitch on) and ya the box was held down by the 2 front bolts
(spose to be 8) and i had two racket tie downs on the back to hold the box sides together (one on top in stake pockets and one on bottom of the stake pockets where the floor used to be) otherwise my tailgate would fall off and i had a few holes in the floor
