I used to make my eMail address public on everyplace I frequented on the 'net.. and I always ended up on somebodies "check out all these jokes I got today" eMail lists.
Of course, those eMails came with EVERYBODYS EMAIL ADDRESS IT WAS SENT TO attached to the eMail header, which often gets gleened by spam list people, and the next thing you know, you're getting a crapload of junk mail.
Sometimes I don't check my mail for a day or two, and it's a real PITA to have to sift thru the junk to find important stuff.
