I'm doing the same thing,installing a 350 drivetrain on my 46 1/2 ton with an S10 front end and a Nova rear end. Before you start maybe look at some of the books available on the market such as restoring your chev truck and how to build a hot rod chassis etc. Theres a wealth of knowledge in these books and from there you can make a plan on what to do. If you look into the gallaries section you'll notice a lot of 41 to 46 Chevs with different drivetrains and a lot of these stovebolters can gladly give you some great ideas.
