i put the electric in my 54 with no problem but then i don't have a radio in mine either which could cause a problem. i switched my wiper blades out with ones that were made for a volkswagon and they fit right on. kept the old ones in case i ever wanted to go back stock etc. i liked the electric over the vacum since at that time i was driving it quite a bit.
