I've lived in Hurst since 1960 and I've always figured only about me and two or three other people knew very much at all about the City of Hurst!!
Since you seem to be interested, here are a few more bits of info on Hurst.
Our current Mayor, who has held office for 24 years was the first Postmaster for the city in the Post Office of his parents grocery store on Highway 10, the shortest state highway in the state of Texas. His name is William (Bill) Souder and his mother, who owned Emma's Grocery Store in Hurst was a daughter of William L. Hurst.
Emma died about 15, or so, years ago at the age of 99. The Honorable Mayor Souder will be 83 on his next birthday and runs faster than I do everyday all day long!
It's a pretty nifty little city!
Now about Kyle! Also very interesting! I am always amazed at some of the unbelievable history that lies behind some of these small towns in Texas, or, for that matter, any communities across our great country!!
