I just got home and I haven't yet read all your replies, but I will after some beverages and supper.
The truck was actually restored 12 yrs ago to original condition, aside from paint color. I am the 3rd owner and the odometer shows a correct 58,282 miles. The PO had it for 25 yrs in the Red Deer area.
So this wasn't an exciting "barn find", I just found the add in the bargain finder, Went and looked at it and bought on the spot.
I am a mechanic by trade but bodywork is one thing that I have not yet mastered to my satisfaction. Having the bodywork and paint already done is a bonus for me.
Just like most of you, when you have to make time for family, work [4 letter word], home maintenance and improvements, there isn't much time left over for a hobby such as this, but I am going to fit it in.
I haven't spent the time yet on how to get pictures from my digital camera onto the internet, but I will be working on it to show you my new hobby. [I see I have a reply that will help me.]
