Your engine has timing gears, no chain. This wouldn't have to be addressed unless you were going to rebuild the engine. I think a new or rebuilt waterpump would come with a pulley, so no need to remove yours unless you were going to try and rebuild it. I have seen brushes for your engine in Chevs of the 40's and they are probably available many other places too.
