i too have a '61, 2wd fleetside shortbed, and i just cranked my torsion bars down in the front. i think that overall i achieved about 2 inches or so in the front, it looks like a backyard rake job...but if i lowered the back too no one would be the wiser and i saved myself a couple hundred bucks! just an idea.
