I was working on a power brake conversion on one of my 1966 C-10's with a friend of mine. After a few slipped wrench turns in a tight spot and a bump on the head or two while bleeding the brakes, my frustration began to become noticeable. My friend, in a very calm way, reminded me that "We work on these old trucks for pleasure". That comment stopped me in my tracks and made me think he was right.
After a few deep breaths, I continued with the project at hand. The brake conversion was completed without further incidence. I have often reminded myself of the comment my friend made when things don't seem to be going well. Sometimes, in the haste of getting a little task finished and the rig back on the road, we may get a bit aggravated, just remember to take a deep breath and enjoy your truck and appreciate it for all the pleasure it brings you.
