Hi all,
The parking brake on my '42 3/4-ton special doesn't work very well. Having it off or applied as hard as I can makes the difference between a truck that I can get rolling with one finger and needing three fingers to push it. The brakes overall work perfectly. They stop great when using the pedal. The pedal throw is only a couple of inches, so I think I have the brakes set up correctly. I found the adjustment point on each P-brake cable such that the brake lever has about 3/4 of its unencumbered travel. Everything seems like it should be working. Any thoughts about this? Is the parking brake really just that bad? Is there something I missed? Thanks for your help.
