I'm still tinkering with trying to get the 216 in the '46 2 ton running, but wanted to do a little checking to see what my replacement engine options are.
This truck isn't going to be a show truck or a trailer queen.. i'm not going for the 100% resto or the Hot Rod route.. just going to use it to tool around the farm and go into town with.. to that end, I just want a solid, reliable motor.
Other than another 216, or a full pressure 235, are there any other "direct replacement" motors that are a drop in, bolt up fit?
I don't want to hassle with swapping out rear ends or trying to re-route steering columns.
So what'll bolt in a 1946 1/2 ton with a stock 4 speed tranny and rear end?
