My Mom and I chuckle and refer to the the two finger wave as the "friendly long-distance nose pick."

It's uncanny. You lift a couple fingers, and their head pops back as if you scored a perfect shot up both nostrils. *grin*

I'm with most of you guys. When I moved from central Iowa, to the East coast, I missed the "social driving" from home.
