#18783 12/27/2004 6:04 PM | Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 | Right behind the starter on the block is the casting date. If there is a kidney bean shaped cover held on by three screws half way back on the drivers side it is a splash engine.
Any 235 from 1941-53 except 53 Power Glide cars will be splash engines.
