I'm guessing that one reason they want your VIN is to keep from getting requests from everybody and their brother. You are not somebody's brother are you?
What you're after is the information. Just locate a VIN for a truck that is 'like yours' and use that. Shouldn't be too hard. I think by using the VIN, it is easier for them to get you the information that fits 'your truck'. Also, it may contain add-ons that are pertinent to 'your truck'.
