My '50 3100 1/2 ton (Ziggy) earned his keep over the last few days haulin' big rolls of fence wire and posts around the property.. but those bed sides are just a little too low.. I needed something to raise the sides... time to put those two stake pockets on each side of his bed to good use!

Now i've been looking at different designs, and checking out other peoples wood stakes (is that even the right word? Stakes?) and I really hadn't decided which way to go.. but now I found myself in the middle of a job with big rolls of fence wire rollin' out the back.. time to slap somethin' together quick and get back to work.

I have a pile of used 2x4's and some assorted 2x2's over by the pumphouse, and in about 30 minutes had a very functional deal built.. the more I look at it, the better I like it.

Actually.. it looks pretty cool.

I'll snap a few pics tomorrow when the sun comes back up.. but I was wondering if anybody else has used a simular "makeshift" method they liked?

an idea is only stupid if you think about it rationally.
