drag link/pitman arm knuckle hitting the fat car tires? drag link ends sloppy? tires hitting the frame or something? look for shiney rub marks under there, and any marks on the inside of the tire, also sloppy kingpins or worn spring shackle pins - have someone turn the steering wheel back and forth 'briskly' w/o actually moving the tires while you watch all the steering gear for excessive play anywhere

also, if you find the tires are too fat [modern car tires are] I believe there'll be adjustable 'stop pegs' each end of the axle that you can adjust out a bit to lessen the travel of the wheel in that direction - is on the TF series anyway
