I got my stuff from Patrick's, down in AZ. 520-836-1117.
My block has a casting date of K10 3 - Nov 10, 1953. It is .040 overbored, and has very little ring ridge. So, it's been rebuilt once, but seems to be in good shape. It's an early series pressure-oiler.
I just discovered that it apparently has had undersized cam bearings fitted. My cam, from Patricks, is 2.150, but the
bearing measure out about 2.143, all with the same micrometer. So, the cam won't go in. 8-(
Anybody see this before? Can anyone tell me how to
change cam bearings?
Another oddity: the oil pump is different than the replacement pumps sold by several vendors. So I'm gonna run the original pump. It seems to be in decent shape. I'll have to post pictures somewhere, it's hard to describe.
Drifting into mission creep here..... hope I can wrap this project up this summer.
