I think every state has that law, no more than ?? hours
I've lived all over the Eastern United States as well as in the Midwest, and i've never heard of somebody getting their car towed away for having a FOR SALE sign in the window, or that it was against the law.
In fact, in many of the places i've lived, it's not uncommon for folks to park their cars in the front of the local K-Mart or grocery store with a for sale sign in the window.
I can't tell you how many times i've seen cars in parking lots or driving around with for sale signs in the windows.
Most states have laws that dictate how many cars a private citizen is allowed to sell in a 12 month period (usually more than 2 or 3 requires a dealers licence) but parking a car at the supermarket or local Wal Mart while you shop with a FOR SALE sign in the window is going to get it towed? Thats nuts.
I can totally understand if some dude pays the $8 to park and just leaves the car there for the weekend, but if he's going to check out the show and only leaves the car there while he's attending the show, whats the big deal if he has a FOR SALE sign in the window or a BABY ON BOARD sign?
