I have a 1950 5 window, with the throttle control.
I use it lots.

Primarily, for starting & cold engine warm up or when the engine is warm in warm weather.

In warm conditions I pull the hand throttle knob out enough to open the carburetor slightly before starting.[never using the choke or pumping the accelerator when starting... engine will flood easily].

I use the "cruise control" only when I have my truck in a local parade. [Parade speed is just above idle].

Cool feature to have on a truck. cool

When I go cruisin' in the old truck....women smile, men weep and dogs beg for rides.
