Tim, I found the picture of my manifold heater plate. It is 1/4 inch thick. The two holes are tapped with a 1/4 inch pipe thread tap. The lines are 1/4 inch with flared ends. I used the gasket included with the engine kit as a pattern to cut the plate.
I tried endless timing and carb adjustments to eliminate the hesitation in the absence of the stock manifold. I have read some debate here on the page about the effectiveness of heat under the intake. It cured the problem in my truck, the hesitation is no more.
