Mine is a no problem answer, 1955 first series GMC that is a 74,000 mile original not restored. Just a good cleanup, even buffed the stock 50 yr. old paint and it shines. I have had over 40 vehicles and always rodded everything but this one is too good to do anything but drive! The problem is yours but with such a rare find, if it is in fair shape either restore it or sell it to someone that will and buy what you want. My $.02
