Strangers always ask "when ya gonna paint it"/what color etc. I just say it IS painted and they get that look on their faces like they suddenly realize they're dealing with the clinically insane and it's safest not to take the conversation any further. Originally I thought of painting it faux rust to look like I'd just dragged it out of a field. Think what they would have said then.
I got the Nov 2003 Street Rodder with the how-to about doing faux patina paint. It looks totally cool. Anyone with a 'bolt done that way?
Aside: interesting the effect of a rechromed grill. Wherever I go now people ask if the truck is for sale. Before the chrome job they only ever said it was cute etc. and how their dad/uncle/grandad/brother/whatever used to have one. Funny how a little sparkle creates the itch to buy.
