Hello Folks!
I run across a small problem, and that is with a very nice 235 engine Ive located. First can anyone tell me what all these numbers mean?
I 15 8 on top of the starter motor - on the block. Then some more numbers..3764476
Then on the cylinder head it has numbers ..3836841 and right under it GM11
Then Ive got a question about a Muncie SM 420 Transmission.. Both of these have aproximately 6000 miles in total on the rebuilds.
I believe the 235 engine mount has the front Engine Mount as does the 216 in the 37 at present. So Ive been told.
I can get the driveline with this package. Now in order for it to fit the rearend I may have to have the entire drive shaft cut or shortened. Since Im not an expert at this. After shortening it and its welded how can these be BALANCED so it doesnt "jump rope" out of balance sort of speak..
I do want to keep the old rearend. Install Patricks Ring and Pinion. Patricks opinion was to keep the rearend and stock transmission but install the 235..
The transmission and engine are in VERY nice condition. Just broken in..
Can you experts give me advice on this. Sure would be nice.
