First Hello to everyone. Looks like a very good board with a lot of dedicated people with a lot of knowledge, something I won't be bringing to the site but will be seeking.
We just bought our 14 year old son a 1960 Chevrolet stepside and it needs a lot of work. Has a 6 cyl. and 4 spd. Lots of rust etc.etc...lol
I have been searching this site and others looking to find out what the id numbers are and would appreciate your help with the id of some of this stuff.
Just took this off the inside of the cab by the drivers door...STD RP0723A
This off the engine..B37 S18 under that was 241 and then 570 under that
Up on the head was the number 3835913 then GM21 under that. Looked on the inline motor site and saw some that came close but not this one. Has a single barrel Rochester Carb.
Any help would be much appreciated. My son (stepson, the reason for my handle.lol)and I will be doing the project together and I hope we can do it all. He is a great kid and we have two years to get it done when he is old enough to get his license.
