Ok its update time. Last time I psoted I had a 68 chevy that had a knocking. Whoever said piston rod was correct. Two rods matter of fact. #6 got mad at #5 chewed up its rod and spit it at #5. #6 had basically no rod left except for what was left in the oil pan and #5 had about 2/3rds of its left. Upper ends were in great shape no bent push rods at all. The engine was a 327 not a 350 as I was told by the previous owner.
New Mr goodwrench 350 with 10000 miles is in and working fine. I have changed it over from a 3 speed to a auto on the column and now I am learing what a pain in the but linkage can be to get lined up just right. Body wise I have cleaned out the bed and noticed a slight coat of surface rust that my grinder with a sanding pad can take care of.
Other than that is been a lot of cleanup. Tomorrow I am going to pull the seat and clean up the inside a bit and take a look under the sound deadner and see if I have a rust issue. I sure hope I dont. Other than that all is well. I have learned a lot from reading the posts on this site and other sites and would like to say THANK-YOU too all who have answered my questinons.
