THe 121.5 is used commonly on private airplanes and large Yachts. I was in Civil Air Patrol when I was in High School and we regualarly got to run around looking for the plane that had it's transponder going off in the hanger. it happens about once a month in the houston area. the big ships and large yachts use them as well, they are on floats in a special case, if the case goes under, the float breaks a contact and starts transmitting.
but I never got any callouts on any TVs...
