Update - Checked the needle valve under pretty heavy magnification. The neopreme tip was damaged on one side. Replaced with a used, but good one and all is OK. 60 year old eyeballs failed to "see" the problem. Thanks for the responses - even though the pump was not the problem, it was another possibility and a learning experience. Regards, BW
