I agree about the sturdiness of the old trucks. It amazes me that the '61 (a work in progress) is in almost as good a shape as our newer 3/4 ton. The thin paint on it is peeling off like paper, and I can't even take it through the car wash without loosing several more inches of paint. (I like Chevrolet, but there were a few years in the early to mid nineties when the paint jobs "s*ck*d") Oh well...
When I look at my '37 that has been parked for over 50 years outside in harsh winter conditions, ... it is in better shape than my '61! I mean honestly, they don't build 'em like they used to.
