Welcome to the bolt.
You are in the right place to get info, opinions and sometimes more stuff than you want to know. Local is sometimes the reason to buy a step or a fleet. Here in North Georgia, the short step seems to be the most wanted and thought to be the best looking among the natives. But, the re-tirees who want to be country gentlemen want the fleet with the large back window (large back window in the '60 thru '66. The long bed in either truck isn't as popular as the short, but is better for hauling bulk loads and the fleet can be stacked better with more boxes, bales and other loads. '67 thru '72 models seem to have better value (maybe because of suspension design being newer and has a softer ride). I prefer the '60 -'66 models myself for looks. I am going to look at a '68 this week-end that needs a paint job to buy and fix-up. Either way you go, someone is always wanting a pick-up.
