Ralph - he's no doubt talkin about
the ears on the forks inside the box on the column - not a great pic, but you can sorta see the notches should be pretty square, and with wear, if the open ends get rounded, sloppy shifting will allow the pawl to jam between the 2 forks - jamming can happen easier if the finger/pawl piece is worn too - keep this box packed w/ grease - also need to make sure the hard rubber shim bushings aren't sloppy, both at that box, and down at the trans levers - wear and sloppy parts are always the problem when the column shifter starts lockin up
