yes that is correct.
all you have to do when you have to look/remove something under the carpet is unscrew your shift knob and slid the carpet up over the shift rod,
or
clean up a coffee spill, remove the carpet to access the tranny floor plate it's NOT a big deal
otherwise
you have to unbolt the ring which is bolted to the metal floor ohwell eek to move/see anything at the floor, like (if needed) filling/checking the brake reservoir
my carpet goes up to the seat verticle sheet metal and only high enough to slid under the fiberglas firewall protector (which has double insulation for sound deadening)
