Put the key in the lock and turn it to the unlock position. Just as it gets to the end of the unlock turn, turn it slightly more as you pull the cylinder out of the lock. The cylinder comes out and the latch disengages from the other end. That allows you to install the lock shell in the door and than insert the cylinder into the lock shell, with the latch in the right spot on the inside, and turn the lock to the locked position and it should be back together. Now, this better work because I just did it with mine and it worked!
