At the risk of stirring the pot (Which I would never do), I just did a 350 last year and had a total of $545 in it. The kit I bought was the better of the 2 that my machinist offered and included pistons, rings, bearings, cam and cam bearings, oil pump and lifters. I had the machinist bore the cylinders but all he had to do was polish the crank. He ground the valves, installed the cam and pressed the wrist pins to the pistons. Now I think that was a heck of a lot more than a paint job.
