I am not new to your site but I am new to replying to a good question.
This one is for Woodeemail about the Phillips screws. Yes they did have Phillips screws in 1937. I have a 1937 fastener book and it shows on the 1937 Chevrolet and Fisher bodies use nickel and chrome plated Phillips screws. Some of those use standard #6 with #6 head and some are #8 with a #6 head.
Also most of your Chevy and GM products use Phillip head sheet metal and machine screws. Most of your early and later ***** use slotted head screws.
I seen this question and thought I could help. Since you guys and this site has helped me with many questions on my 54 Chevy 3100 truck
