Are you referring to the Tinnerman nuts that hold the drums on? They are manufacturing aids, to keep the drums in place while the rear ends are shipped to the assembly plant.
Unless you're planning to drive the truck without the wheels in place,
they're not needed. Take 'em off and toss 'em.
Brake drum gaskets? Dunno. Never heard of 'em.
