This is a bit off topic, but of interest to others. I just received a family heirloom. It is a leather bag that has been deglected for decades. The leather is dry and powdery in some places.

What's the best restoration approach? I want this item to last a long time, but retain some character. I was thinking about an oil (like baseball glove oil), but am unsure if that is the best approach. Maybe someone familiar with interiors can lend some expertise.

Also, the skin over my cheekbones has them same problem!! grin
