... It would be simplest to have the hot wire go first to the resistor so you don't have to have multiple resistors.
That's what I'm planning to try first and see if everything works with both 6v motors.
On another note: I've seen some fuel pumps that have a vacuum pump attached. Not sure if they call that a 2-stage or 2-step pump?
