I'm looking for rear brake shoe return springs for my 1954 Chevrolet 4100 1½-ton truck. The Chevrolet parts catalog lists these under Group 5.026:
3694516 — short/green, 3 7/16″ overall length
3694799 — long/black, 3 7/8″ overall length
I need four of each. I've searched quite a bit through NOS suppliers, eBay, aftermarket catalogs and forum discussions, but have come up empty on an available replacement. Has anyone found a source or successfully used another spring on these brakes? When parts get this difficult to find, what options have you used? I'd be interested in proven cross-references, having springs reproduced, or any other practical solutions.
Any leads or firsthand experience would be appreciated.
