Hi all,
I only just saw this thread, but I appreciate all the support! I did Primary with VT-28 in Corpus Christi, TX which was overall…a terrible experience! The Navy is committed to reinventing the wheel with flight training and the changes to the training syllabus have lengthened the training pipeline to several years. As of right now I’m with HT-18 at “South Field” and getting close to my Instrument Check.

The 57 just made its final flight to the Naval Aviation Museum earlier this year and now the “TH-73” is on deck. It’s a modified version of the AW-119 that’s popular in the VIP transport and Air Ambulance world. Unfortunately this means that the helicopter is not built for being left outside in the fine North Florida weather and they’ve had incredible amounts of teething issues.

Funnily enough, my top two choices for my aircraft are the Huey and the 53E. The squadrons on the east coast are getting the “53K” first and there’s currently very few slots to go to the east coast. I probably have a few more months down here, John but if I’m up your ways I’ll let you know!
