Are you saying that a spacer is a necessity? Would it be for heat dissipation or clearance? Is this just for the 302? I was just looking at the 228 they're pulling out and all it has is a thick gasket (1/16") between the manifold and carb. Are you sure I need a 5/8 spacer?
