Gene - I think what you've got there is a GMC "Cannonball" COE headlight assembly. Very much looks like the ones in these screen grabs I found looking through 1947-59 "Cannonball" pictures. They all look to have that flat mounting surface, so hard to tell without more details, like if there are any part numbers anywhere, that we could research further to nail down the year(s).
