All;

I'm revisiting this thread. I finally purchased a new wiring harness, put in for a week off from work and coordinated to have my son come help me wire the truck. I decided on the American Autowire harness that includes all the wiring, light sockets, connectors etc.

Does anyone have a recommendation on a solder iron/gun and the correct solder to use? The soldering iron I have is an old harbor freight job that is kind of wonky. It's designed for bench top soldering. Is there something better to use for in vehicle soldering. Does solder type matter or is it just "wiring solder?"

Any other advice/lessons learned from a complete rewire job?

Thanks

Larry
