Dankjt - It sounds like your '50 3100 likely has the RPO 227 Heavy Duty Clutch option that was available when new. According to the
1950 Chevrolet Truck Data PDF (extract attached below), that heavy duty option clutch should be a 9-bolt pressure plate unit with a 10-3/4" clutch disc.
Suggest you check the measurement of the clutch disc to confirm. If it turns out to be the 10-3/4" disc, you can get new repop clutch discs from a number of our usual vendors. The Filling Station offers
Clutch Disc Item# SA-104 that is listed as a replacement for the original GM item. Jim Carter offers the correct 10-3/4" clutch disc as
Part Number MEE257 for a better price.
On the 9-bolt clutch pressure plate, those are not available from any source that I can locate. You can probably take yours to a clutch rebuilder and have it resurfaced/refreshed to work with the new clutch disc.
If the pressure plate disc is too thin or damaged so it must be replaced, you can still find NOS replacements as GM# 838949, like this one on
1938-1953 Chevrolet Clutch Pressure Plate, HD, NOS GM 838949 on ebay. You can take the replacement disc with your old pressure plate to a clutch rebuilder and have them restore your existing pressure plate to like new.
