Steve and I were "shop buddies" in the first auto mechanic's class at Spring Branch High School in Houston 1963-4. We became good friends. I was a year ahead of him and already in the USAF when he talked about enlisting. I tried to convince him to join the safer Air Force, but he wanted to be more involved.
I still miss him.
