Good thinking on the battery connection, no one needs that kind of excitement. Also the knurled nuts to hold the assembly to the dash makes sense. Not much room under there to do any ratcheting.
Sprung a leak in the radiator, pulling that out now. Then onto the temp gauge problem. Fun never ends with these old trucks.
